Composition Services

  • Commissions

I specialize in creating unique, custom compositions tailored to your specific requirements. Whether you’re a choir, church choir with orchestra, or a classical chamber ensemble, I can compose pieces that resonate with your vision. My custom compositions are available for commission and purchase directly from my website. Elevate your performances with music crafted specifically for your ensemble’s strengths and style.

  • Orchestration

Orchestration is the art of adding and assigning parts to an already written song, tailored to fit the specific makeup of your ensemble.

This service is particularly valuable for churches, as each church orchestra has a unique combination of instruments. I will create a full orchestral score that complements your ensemble’s capabilities, enhancing the overall sound and impact of the piece.

  • Arrangements

Arranging involves transforming existing material into a fresh, new format.

For instance, I can take a classic hymn and rearrange it for a church orchestra, giving it a new life while maintaining its original essence.

My arrangements are designed to suit various ensemble configurations, ensuring that the new version retains its musical integrity and appeal.

  • Score Editing

Editing takes a piece from good to great. My editing process includes refining melodies, harmonies, and rhythms to ensure the highest quality of music.

Whether it is a structural edit, or if you just need your piece in a different key; whether you need a second pair of eyes to polish your composition or a thorough revision to perfect it, I am here to help.

  • Engraving

Engraving involves preparing digital scores for performance by ensuring that the notation is clear, precise, and ready for distribution to ensembles and performers.

I provide professional engraving services for composers who write in standard staff notation. This process includes formatting, layout, and proofreading to guarantee that your music is presented in the best possible way.

  • speaking / residency

It’s probably obvious - but I love talking about music composition, music theory, and music history. I’d love to talk to your class or ensemble about one of these topics. I prefer speaking in person, but thanks to geographic limitations - I’m more than happy to schedule a Zoom meeting with you as well. These presentations can be customized to fit in a class period time (usually 50 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes) - and are meant for either High School or University students.
