A Step-by-step process for writing music for new composers + Songwriters
I can't tell you how much I love writing music. It's one of the most awesome things a human can do. That's why I'm passionate about helping every musician that I can to get better at writing music. 2) I have written some stuff, but it's always incoherent, and I can't ever finish a project

Most people that ask Reddit about these things get the response "Just write a bunch of music." And while that's not entirely wrong, it's also not very helpful.
I was there. I have dealt with all three of those problems. They all feel insurmountable - but it's not true. So, let me tell you a story.

When I was a teenager, I had just learned guitar and was ready to write some music. Except, I had no access to private songwriting or composition lessons. So, I just started making stuff up. And it wasn't good.
Even when I did take a composition class 10 years later, it was mostly analysis of other composer's works. It wasn't until I had someone guide me through the entire process for taking an idea, and turning it into a cohesive work of music that I actually starting making progress as a composer.

The way I've set it up, the course is designed to take 30 days. I highly encourage you to practice writing every single day as you are learning.
However, each of the videos are roughly 10-15 minutes, as well as the writing assignment that goes along with each video. You should be able to complete everything in 30 minutes a day.
That being said, many of the exercises are set up so that you can repeat them as many times as you'd like for more practice.
I also understand that you probably have a busy life, and if this takes longer than 30 days to complete, that's okay too.

However much music theory you currently know will serve you well in this course. If you are at absolute zero with music theory, I will cover all of the music theory basics you'll need in the course materials.

I am a composer who uses just about every type of technology for writing music - I use paper, I use notation software, I use recording software. All of these things are great for helping express musical ideas.
