The Lord Is In Your Midst

The book of Zephaniah was written during the time of Israel's
history when the Northern Kingdom had been overthrown, but
the Southern Kingdom was still independent. The Lord spoke to
the people of Judah through the prophet Zephaniah, instructing
them to repent, and prophesying the coming judgment if they did
not. However, at the end of the book the Lord promises to
restore His people. This is where the text for this song comes
from. No matter how hard times are, whether in trial or judgment,
the Lord has promised to restore the faithful.

Sing aloud, O Daughter of Zion
Shout, O shout, O Israel
Rejoice, Daughter of Jerusalem

The Lord has removed your judgments
He has turned back your enemies
Thou shall not see evil anymore
The Lord is in the midst of thee

The Lord is in your midst
Rejoice with all your heart

He will rejoice over you with singing
He will quiet you with His love
